Davidson College Partnership Spotlight
Members of Davidson College Presbyterian Church have visited Nicaragua for several years, but they wanted to have an ongoing partnership with a community. In cooperation with CEPAD, they formed a partnership with the seven communities of Kilambe in 2005.
“Our focus with the Kilambe communities has always been education – providing funds for scholarships for the youth of the communities. Some of those original children have now graduated from university with our help. Until the pandemic, we have sent groups of youth and adults to the communities yearly, primarily to create relationships, but also to participate in various building, gardening, painting, and other projects as well as delivering school supplies.”
Davidson College Presbyterian shares why they choose to partner through CEPAD.
“CEPAD has made all of our trips possible, including transportation to this remote region, provide translators to ease our communication, and help ensure that the scholarships we provide are routed directly to the communities. Our partnership would not be possible without the help of CEPAD.”
We are so thankful for Davidson College’s commitment to their partners in Kilambe and the ongoing programs with CEPAD.
