Producing a Future

Maura, along with her husband, are caring for their three small grandchildren now that their children have left the country in search of work. They were struggling to make ends meet and often struggled just to put food on the table.

Three years ago, Maura started in CEPAD’s Family Gardening Program, where she attended workshops on sustainable agriculture techniques. Now, she is able to feed her family and contribute to their income.

“My family has changed now. We eat all sorts of vegetables like tomatoes, peppers, onions, cabbage, cucumbers, pineapple, squash, yucca, papaya, mango, plantains, and more. All of this variety is thanks to the seeds I received from CEPAD. I’m able to sell the excess from my garden to buy other things we need for the kitchen – cheese, cream, meat, and even beef soup.”

Thank YOU for providing Maura with the knowledge and tools she needed to care for her grandchildren and create a better future for them. To provide other women with the same opportunity, you can partner with CEPAD here.
