Peace & Reconciliation Forum

CEPAD recently hosted the Peace and Reconciliation Forum in Nueva Guinea. The forum focused largely on sharing the experience of the peace commissions during the 1980’s Contra War. These peace commissions worked in different regions of the country to help bring peace.

After representatives of the different regions each spoke, there was a brief time for questions and answers as we reflected on this important piece of history. Our time together was encouraging, both as we remembered what these peace commissions looked like and how they worked, as well as looking at our lives today and how we can continue to advocate for peace, loving our neighbor as ourself.

One of the main passages of scripture we reflected on was Romans 10:15.

“And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”

May we always bring good news wherever we go, and may we be reminded of the One who sends us out.
