Our Staff – Mayra Chavez
We want you to meet our staff! Though you may know some of them, or have met them if you’ve visited, we want to share more about them and what they do for CEPAD.
Mayra Chavez is CEPAD’s cook. She cooks breakfast and lunch for CEPAD staff as well as all the meals and snacks for any events or delegations. Mayra arrives at CEPAD’s office very early to cook gallo pinto, the traditional Nicaraguan breakfast of rice and beans. Mid-morning, Mayra goes to the market to purchase fresh meat and produce for lunch.
She has been at CEPAD for 13 years after being recommended for the job by CEPAD’s previous Financial Administrative Director, Ligia Sandoval. “I love cooking, so having the opportunity to do that is wonderful, and everyone on staff is very special to me.” Mayra cooks with love and cares about CEPAD staff. She knows their likes and dislikes and tries to please everyone with what she makes.
Mayra invites you to come see and taste Nicaragua. “Come to CEPAD – I’d love to cook for you!”
Thank you, Mayra, for your hard work to support CEPAD and our staff and for caring about us so deeply!
