Empowering Women to be Breadwinners
Women in Nicaragua face many struggles, but thanks to your generous gifts they are learning to improve their self-esteem and to run small businesses to benefit their families.
Isaura just graduated from CEPAD’s programs in 2020, but thanks to you, is now ready to face the future as a stronger person and with new opportunities. Thank you for making stories like Isaura’s possible.
“My name is Isaura Mendez. First I want to thank God for giving me life and health and the ability to learn.
Two years have been enough for me to learn to value myself and develop my talents. I am a member of the Women’s empowerment group in Jucuapa.
Before I didn’t have any idea of how to make jewelry and, even though I’m a woman, I didn’t know how to prepare different types of food. It wasn’t until I started the trainings with CEPAD that a big space and opportunity opened and now I make bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings and I can make different plates of food thanks to this training.
My learning has prepared me to cook for different types of events and I am trained to build my own business and create my own employment….
I don’t have words to express my gratitude. I feel complete. I feel like I can continue forward because I know how to generate income for my family. I want to thank God and CEPAD for this opportunity.”
