Advent Week 4: Love

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.”

John 3:16-19

We all know these verses. they are not just popular among us believers, but they also contend some of the core beliefs of the Christian tradition. For in them we received one of the most wonderful gifts we could have obtained. Through these verses, we learn that God so loved humanity that He sent His only begotten son to die for us on the cross so we could reach eternal salvation. These are some of the Bible verses that best summarize God’s relationship with humanity and the extent of his love for us.

Here at CEPAD we recognize and cherish God’s sacrifice of love for all his children, so let us believe this promise in John 3:16-19, for we have received the gift of unconditional love from God in Jesus Christ our savior and redeemer. Let’s celebrate all the deeds God has done for us by sharing with all those around us through His mercy, love, and eternal grace.
